3 Myths On Outsourcing in Your Business

There is a lot of fear when it comes to outsourcing and trust me I get it. We built our business from the ground up so to give some control over to someone else is nerve wracking to say the least. What if they mess things up, what if they delete something, what if they take my info and create something similar, what if, what if, what if. I mean we can go on and on about the what if’s. It’s scary when you think about it. 

What if I told you that in order to grow you have to outsource? We are not meant to do this on our own. There is going to come a time when you will not be able to grow without help. 

However, there needs to be a change in mindset when you are outsourcing if you want to succeed. I have heard it all when it comes to why you can’t outsource so let’s break down these myths. 

Let’s break down 3 myths about outsourcing:
✨I can’t outsource because I don’t trust to give them my passwords. 

Whew! This one hit home to a lot of us didn’t it? Your new team member is going to have your password which means they will have access to your email, newsletters, courses, etc. Do you know there is a safe way to give your team member access without giving them your password? 

It’s called Lastpass. Lastpass is a password manager that stores encrypted passwords online. You input the info and share access to your team member and when that team member is no longer with you you can take away access.

At the end of the day, trust needs to be given, which will take time. 

Feel better already about outsourcing? 

✨I can’t afford to outsource.

Yes you can! As someone who has an MBA in Accounting, let’s break down the numbers. How much time are you spending doing tedious tasks? 10 hours, 15 hours? Imagine hiring a VA for 10 hours a month at $400 a month. You now have 10 hours to take on two more coaching clients at $3000.00 (if you charge $1500 per month for coaching)…you just made $2600.00 and saved time and money AND you are doing what you love instead of what you don’t. It’s a win-win right?

✨I don’t have time to train.

Do you know that a lot of people are experts in their niche? Also as a business owner, each time you do a task in your business you should be creating SOPs anyway. SOPs are Standard operating Procedure which are basically a step by step workflow. Then have your team member watch the video and see the steps to do a task. Will this take time, of course but there are some team members who will do this for you. We all have to train because no one knows your business like you, so you will have to train on how you like things handled. But if you don’t want to deep train on let’s say social media because you don’t understand it, then outsource it to an expert and you don’t have to train. Therefore saving you time.
